Edge of centre food store impact irrelevant

Plans by the Co-operative Society in Essex to erect an edge of centre supermarket failed to win support from an inspector who decided that although there was no need for the appellants to examine the impact of the scheme on a village centre, the design failed to preserve the character of a conservation area.
