Ian Dickie is a Director at eftec, whom he joined in November 2007. He is also a Director of the Aldersgate Group, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Sustainability Committee, and the Advisory Panel of the Natural Capital Coalition. At eftec Ian has directed Natural Capital accounting work for The Crown Estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, London Borough of Barnet and John Lewis. He has managed over £2 million worth of research for the Defra family, including on natural capital investments for the 1st Natural Capital Committee, and support for the current Defra Pioneers. He has recently led work to produce a UK urban natural capital account, including the value of urban green space for recreation and health, and develop a natural and social capital accounting tool for the UK water industry. He was a technical author of the Natural Capital Protocol, and the lead technical writer of UNDP’s 2016 biodiversity finance initiative (BIOFIN) workbook. He has also managed studies on habitat banking, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity finance for the European Commission and worked on forestry, wildlife trade and invasive species. Ian was previously head of economics for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, whom he joined in April 2000.
