Energy recovery facility

In a call-in application, the secretary of state accepted his inspector's recommendation and refused permission for an energy-from-waste facility at a former colliery in Nottinghamshire after finding a number of factors weighing against the proposal. The inspector concluded that he could not be confident that the operations would qualify as recovery rather than waste disposal.
