Extensions to listed buildings Q & A DCP Section 27.3
This section deals with proposals both to extend listed buildings and to make additions to them. Development involving building within the curtilage of a listed building, thus affecting its setting but not its character or its fabric, is not specifically dealt with here but may be found in various other sections of this manual according to the type of development. The commonest form of additions to listed buildings are all dealt with here, such as porches, canopies, blinds, coach lamps, floodlights and solar panels, but advertisements are considered within (30) and shop fronts/shutters at (27.2).
