As well as containing discussion related to the planning control of large kennels, catteries and animal sanctuaries, which are normally sited in rural areas, this section also addresses the establishment of pet animal breeding, care or "rescue" activities In residential contexts. The keeping of horses in all respects is the subject of (23.2), zoos and animal parks are discussed at (18.4) and pigeons at (12.833). Dwellings or caravans used in connection with such uses can be found in sections 8 and 9. Buildings to house domestic animals such as dogs and cats are considered here.
