Permission granted on appeal for mineral extraction in South Downs National Park

A planning inspector has extended the end date for soft sand extraction at the site near Midhurst until 2021, concluding that harm to the national park would be temporary and outweighed by the benefits to the public of extracting the remaining reserve.
