Planning waste schemes must be aware of the assets of community value regime

Issues that might hinder the timely grant of planning permission for waste infrastructure developments have been well-documented in this column. A further example of a potential issue relates to the ability of local communities to nominate properties as assets of community value (ACVs) under the Localism Act 2011 (LA 2011).
