Proposed quarry restoration fails to deliver adequate ecological enhancement

An application to extend Mepal quarry and to extract 1.9 million tonnes of sand and gravel over nine years has been refused by Cambridgeshire County Council because the restoration scheme failed to deliver ecological objectives.
