Roof and elevation alterations Q & A DCP Section 12.4
This section is mainly concerned with enlargements, improvements or other alterations to a conventional dwellinghouse which affect its roof, including the formation of dormer windows and roof terraces. Elevation alterations including changes to windows and the application of cladding, are also included here. Such works relating to listed houses will be found at (27.2) or (27.3). Additions or alterations relating to existing flat/apartment blocks or at houses converted to flats in the past are considered at (12.5). Rural house extensions, which may involve roof alterations, are specifically dealt with at (12.6). TV/radio aerials and satellite dishes at a dwellinghouse are covered (28.2) and (28.3) and householder micro-generation proposals, such as solar panels and wind turbines, are discussed at (12.7).
