Sustainable Urban extension outweighed by harm to Green Wedge function

The secretary of state rejected an outline proposal for a largely residential urban extension of 1420 dwellings, including 20% affordable housing, and a new village centre on a 74 hectares arable farmland site on fringe of town but site allocated as green wedge separating town from nearby rural settlement.
